Xcel energy rebates are valid only for natural gas account holders in single-family houses, duplexes, and small multifamily houses. There are tiered rebate amounts, including cold-climate ducted/ductless heat pumps (up to $2,250 per heating ton at 5°F), standard ducted/ductless heat pumps (up to $900 per cooling ton at 95°F), and heat pump water heaters (up to $2,250 flat). Cold-climate equipment at 5°F earns a larger rebate than standard equipment at 95°F because they reduce the reliance on fossil fuels for heating during extreme low temperatures and can cost more upfront to install. Make sure to confirm with your specific heat pump brand how you will be reimbursed for the rebate, and also confirm current amounts before signing. Colorado Heat Pump Tax Credit
If you’re a Colorado resident, you may also be eligible for the state heat pump tax credit of up to $1,000 for air-source heat pumps or up to $2,000 for ground-source heat pumps. Please also verify these amounts prior to signing, as rebate amounts are subject to change.
